Vegetables Are So Overrated
We all want to do it, right? We want to eat the salad two times a day and the veggies with every meal. Wanting and doing are two different things. We know it’s good for us, but it’s so hard. Or is it?
Eat Your Greens!
I used to think that eating healthy meant living like a rabbit. Seriously. And really, how many carrots and celery can a girl reasonably eat? I thought salads, salads and more salads, and I wasn’t impressed. I also thought, there’s no way I can be one of those crazy people that takes the time to “food prep”, especially with how busy my days are, and the much more convenient thing would be to just stop at a drive through – I mean, McDonalds does salads, right?
LOL. Well, all of that crazy thinking aside, it’s actually NOT hard to eat your vegetables. I don’t live like a rabbit, I certainly don’t ever food prep, and salads all the time? No way. It doesn’t have to be extravagant! So stop thinking that it does. I have a banana and strawberries in my smoothie every morning for breakfast. For lunch, I’ll sometimes have a – SHOCKER – salad… and add in grilled chicken (fresh – not that store crap that is preprocessed and ready to throw in a salad – you know what I mean – don’t buy it). Salads can be delicious, but you do NOT need to have one 3 times a day to be healthy, lol. Other times for lunch I may have some tuna with avocado (instead of mayo – just my preference) on those 100-calorie sandwich rounds (http://www.naturesownbread.com/products/Sandwichrounds/WholeWheatSandwichRounds), and a yogurt. For dinner, I usually make some kind of meat, be it porkchops, steak, grilled chicken, fish, etc… and then pair it with some steamed broccoli with fresh squeezed lemon, or sautéed spinach, or zucchini – or all 3. If I DO want a carb, I’ll make a sweet potato. If not, to get that carb feel, I’ll roast some parsnips into “fries” (and they are DELICIOUS), or I’ll mash cauliflower into “mashed potatoes” – and that still gives me my veggies while tasting like a carb. Food magic my friends! 😉 The best part though, is that NONE of this is difficult. I’m not here at home and cooking gourmet 5 star meals… though taste-wise, they are pretty close cause I know my way around the kitchen, haha… but I digress 😉
You could be the BUSIEST person in the world, and you can STILL eat right. I do all the time! And we have to. Our bodies need the nutrients that the right foods provide. What our bodies do NOT need, however, is a box of McNuggets.
Don’t even act like you don’t know either, lol.
4 piece? Who even bothers with that?
Point is, even if you’ve already used the It Works! Body Wraps, and you now have the lean and tone body that you wanted, you still have to keep eating healthy. The behaviors that made you fat in the first place will make you fat again, so you can’t slack off. For me personally, I happen to love fruits and vegetables. You, may not agree. That’s okay though, because THAT is where It Works Greens comes in.
What Is It Works Greens?
It Works Greens is a drink powder that you add to water or other drinks to get the nutritional equivalent of more than 8 servings of fruits and vegetables. Yes, you get 8 servings in only one serving of the powder.
Talk about convenient, right?
That’s because the It Works Greens blends 38 herbs and nutrient-rich super-foods into one simple powder that you can easily drink.
But before you think that It Works Greens is just another nutritional supplement in a powder, think again. Just like the infamous It Works Ultimate Body Applicator (aka the wraps), It Works Global has made it super easy to live a healthy lifestyle. The greens always came in a tasty orange flavor that you can mix in water, juice, or even a smoothie. Don’t worry, it really does taste good, so it won’t ruin your smoothie. How many supplements can you say THAT about? But now, the greens has a brand new Berry flavor, and it’s my absolute FAVORITE! Since everyone always wants to know what I eat and how I’ve managed to keep my body wrap results for over a year now. With the exception of when I’m away on vacation, or out for a weekend getaway, etc… here’s exactly what I have for breakfast pretty much every single day.
I have a Magic Bullet (I swear it’s the best little investment I ever made), so one of their regular smoothie mugs is what I use.
1 medium banana
1 cup of strawberries (halved)
2/3 cup of nonfat milk
2 scoops of It Works Greens (Berry flavor)
ice (to your liking)
220 calories and no need for coffee anymore. It gives me a ton of energy, detoxes, keeps me full until lunch, and tastes delicious! If you want to mix it up, switch out the nonfat milk for Silk Pure Coconut milk — it’s so refreshing, and if you close your eyes for a minute, it tastes like having a frozen drink at the pool.
What does alkalizing mean?
The It Works Greens is alkalizing. That means it is going to increase the pH of your urine. Why in the world would that matter? Well, research has shown that alkalizing foods can have an overall benefit to your health. A diet solely made of foods that increase the pH of your urine is called an alkaline diet, and according to the American Dietetic Association, an alkaline diet is a healthy diet.
Now I know that a true alkaline diet is basically a vegetarian diet, but It Works Greens is not about going vegetarian. We do realize and suggest that your diet be full of fruits and vegetables if you want to really enjoy and prolong the results of that crazy wrap thing. We also know that most people are not going to do that. So that is why we have It Works Greens, because it works for most of us who need the easy access to the alkalizing benefits of fruits and veggies.
Besides being a part of a healthy lifestyle, the Greens are good for those of us who need to repair from all of the bad stuff we’ve put in our bodies. Just like fruits and vegetables have an alkalizing effect on our body, caffeine and processed foods do just the opposite. They will increase the amount of acid in our urine. Food that is alkalizing, like It Works Greens, will help bring your pH back up to where it needs to be.
So now you see why the Greens are so awesome? Just to be safe, let me summarize again. You get the nutritional equivalent of 8 servings of vegetables. It tastes delicious and is easy to use. It’s alkalizing, which can help bring the body to healthy a pH level. It’s convenient and even kids love it. Oh, and it works.
You already knew that last part though, right?
